Margie is a music industry veteran, having been in the industry for over 35 years. She has worked with such artists as Jay-Z, Madonna and LL Cool J. Recently she helped to launch John Legend’s career with his debut album Get Lifted. Margie is the CEO of Storyline Entertainment and has authored three books on the music business: The Music Business Survival Guide (PM Press), Musicians are from Mars; Lawyers are from Venus (Piatkus). and Making it Work: A Woman’s Guide to Successful Negotiating (PM Press).
Rapper Kanye West once called her “the godfather of hip hop”. She was recently named one of the “Top 25 Women in Music” by Billboard and one of the “20 Most Powerful Women in Music” by College News. She is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
